The Chief Brief is on hiatus today. It’s not often that you get to celebrate the consistent and steadfast leadership of a woman for 70 years, so we’ll be doing just that! It is a once in a lifetime event and one I definitely will never see again.
Whether you are a royalist or a republican Queen Elizabeth II is a woman who embodies what leadership must look like:
A devotion to duty and her people. Dignified and steadfast in times of turbulence. Consistent in her approach. Loyal to a fault. That’s how her people describe her. After 70 years - it’s indeed a feat that they feel this way. Perhaps her most enduring legacy will be that she taught global leaders what strong leadership truly means and looks like.
But leadership is not just about duty above all things, it’s also about retaining a sense of humour about yourself! If you missed the iconic moment of the Queen’s tea with Paddington Bear this weekend, or the party at the palace, do watch the BBC video below for the Queen’s full and hilarious sketch with Paddington and find out what she really carries in her bag. (Kudos also to the BBC team for a marvellous job of putting on the best live show in an age.)
Have a fabulous weekend!
